THE SECRET TO MOVING FORWARD IN GOD’S MINISTRY

Moving ForwardTHE SECRET TO MOVING FORWARD IN GOD’S MINISTRY

Nowadays many of us face difficulties in moving forward in our respective Church ministries. Some people say that they can’t move forward in God’s ministry because they don’t have enough time or are too busy with their household, office and many other responsibilities.  There are actually many other reasons, which are commonly used to excuse themselves from getting involved in God’s ministry. Do you believe that all these excuses can be solved? How? If these problems can be solved, what are the solutions?

I will quote a few passages from the Bible to help us to move in God’s ministry. I believe through quoting these verses we will become more confident in our ministry. It’s not only to provide a conviction of our faith but it’s also to restore our strength in serving God after facing several failures. All of these verses will become our platform to keep us moving forward in God’s ministry, whether directly or indirectly. In other words to become “our secret” as to why we keep moving forward in God’s ministry without any doubts:

“Start well and End well” John 20:19-31

crossing-the-finish-lineI never forget what my former pastor in-charge said about one thing which keeps me moving forward in my ministry. He said we need to “Start well and End well”. Personally whenever I read about Jesus’ life, deep in my heart I want to be like Him “Who start well and ending well”. I believe it is not impossible to do the same because Jesus himself is our model and helper.

Jesus gave us very good examples about the mission which his father had given to him. Right at the beginning of His ministry, we knew that Jesus is sent by His father for a special task. We can see in John 4 : 32-34 “but he said to them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about." Then his disciples said to each other, "Could someone have brought him food?”My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work”.  Jesus knew why he was in this world. I believe each one of us can do well in our mission if we really know why we are in this world. By knowing our purpose of life in this world will make us more serious with our time, profession and ministry. At the end of the day, we can say “Praise God I have done my best”.

Does our business affected because of Jesus? (Acts 19:23-41)

business-debt116Many of us in our church are businessmen or businesswomen running our own business today. What type of business do we run? Remember, having our own business is nothing wrong but we need to know what type of business we have. If we look in the book of Acts 19:23-41 , we will discover in this passage that the Gospel of Christ changed the lifestyle and belief of the people in Ephesus. In the city there was a silversmith named Demetrius. He made silver shrines of Artemis and his business was making a lot of profit. By looking at the profit and job opportunities he provided for many other people, he did an excellent job. Somehow along the way he became very worried and insecure because more people were turning to a new belief that was in Christ preached by Paul. See in verse 17-19

“then this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas”.

Stadium2WORLD CUP DIVERTS THE ATTENTION OF THE PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD TO SOUTH  AFRICA.

Today, most of the conversations in the coffee shops or work places are about football. Regardless of race, professions, status, all of them are busy talking about The World Cup. The teams they like or support. One of the very funny things about those who talk about “World Cup” is that they themselves are not football players. Strangely though, they know many of the best players in the world today. The World Cup not only influences the lives of those who love playing football but also those who are not even playing football. So you can imagine how powerful The World Cup championship influences the lives of the people around the world.
